Dempsey Center Offers Nutrition Workshop

LEWISTON - The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing at Central Maine Medical Center is offering a free nutrition workshop to cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. ‘Eat Well to Prevent and Treat Cancer’ will take place Wednesday, Sept. 21 from 5 - 6 p.m. at CMMC, 12 High Street , Conference Room A.

Eating well can both decrease your risk of cancer and help with cancer treatment efforts. Presenter Judy Donnelly, RD, LD, from Nutrition Works, LLC, will discuss foods and nutrients that should be a part of your diet. She will share practical tips and recipes that will help you incorporate an arsenal of cancer-fighting foods into your everyday diet.

Donnelly, a registered and licensed dietitian, has been in practice for 25 years. She graduated from the University of Maine and Medical College of Virginia Dietetic Internship program. She currently consults at Nutrition Works, LLC in Portland , where she meets with individuals having a variety of nutrition and health concerns. Donnelly also meets with students and staff at Bates College , promoting nutrition and wellness.
