Boys hockey: Lewiston beats rivals St. Dom's

AUBURN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Just like back in January, not much separated the two most presitigious high school hockey progams in the state as Lewiston swept the regular season series over St. Dominic Academy on Saturday, 3-2. 

Senior Matt Poulin scored two goals for the Blue Devils, including the game-winner in the third period, while sophomore Brendan Croteau tallied Lewiston's other goal.  Sophomore Austin Roy and junior Mitch Lorenz each scored for St. Dom's. 

The Blue Devils (11-3) beat the Saints (6-6-1) by a 6-5 final in overtime back on December 20. 

Lewiston remains atop the Class 'A' East standings.  St. Dominic Academy is fourth.

The two programs have combined for 44 state championships between them with the Saints holds 24-20 edge.
