Kindergarten and Pre-K Registration for Fall 2012, Fiddlehead Center

It's never too early to help ensure your child's success in school. Fiddlehead offers several options for your family, including full or half day and a two-year kindergarten program starting at age 4.  Private pre-K and Kindergarten programs are offered in a bright and engaging facility in Gray, just 10 minutes from Windham, North Yarmouth, Raymond and Casco. Parents and students who wish to tour Fiddlehead Center are encouraged to visit our facilities. We welcome all visitors, and a staff member is always available to answer any questions you may have regarding our program. Lisbon Got Talent Show Rocks!

Photo Caption: The annual Lisbon Got Talent show produced by The Lisbon Tech Club provided ticket goers with their money’s worth.  Twelve acts were masterfully performed by students and staff members during the annual event at the high school, in Lisbon Falls.  Pictured (l-r) members of the Downtown Greyhound Bluegrass Band played Barbeque.  Band members included LHS staff Paul Giggey, Jennifer Fox, Jackie Young, Brian Dodge and Lynn Gervais and Dan Sylvester; Mistresses of ceremony were Melissa Hoskins and Bre Cota; members of the six member student ensemble of high school seniors known as the Lisbon Got Talent Dancers earned a standing ovation.  Student dancers were all trained under the watchful eye of dance instructor, Alma-Lea Pace of Alma-Lea’s Dance Studio in Lisbon Falls.

Lisbon School Department Superintendent, Administrators, Teachers and Staff honored its Volunteers and Community Partners for contributing 21,107 volunteer hours throughout the 2011 – 2012 school year.  Outstanding volunteer of the year Pamela Shane contributed 2166.5 hours of volunteer assistance.  Shane is a member of the Lisbon Adult Volunteer program and serves as Vice President of the Parent Teacher Organization  at Lisbon Community School. Pam is following the tradition of volunteering from her mom, Maxine Shane, an LCS teacher and encourages her daughter Carolyn, a 4th grade junior volunteer at LCS, to following the family tradition.  the   “Lisbon is a proud Community of hard working people who truly enjoy giving back to their community and schools,” shares Resource coordinator, Monica Millhime.  Over the last eight years, the galvanized force of ov

Foxcroft Academy Head of School Arnold Shorey has been selected as “Administrator of the Year” by the Executive Board of the Maine Association of School Libraries (MASL). He was surprised by this presentation at the school staff meeting on May 23.  Nancy Grant, a member of the MASL Board and Tina Taggart, also a MASL Board member and the Library Media Specialist at FA, made the announcement.  Mr. Shorey will receive a “Library Media Service Award for Administrators” plaque and a $500 donation to FA’s library media program made in his name.

The Library Media Service award is intended to honor administrators who, through individual leadership and sustained effort, have made worthy contributions to the operations of effective school library media services within the educational program.
